I can’t believe an entire month has gone by since Christmas and gone are the festive trees and holiday spirit. As we head deeper into winter, here is a list of my personal favorites, or essentials that get me through the winter depression.
I have oily acne prone skin, but the below freezing temps defiantly dry it out. I received a sample of the Belief True Cream Aqua Bomb from Sephora and it was a total game changer. I’ve never tried a gel moisturizer before but after using this at night, I woke up
with fresh soft skin. I wish the full size wasn’t $38 dollars, but I’m thinking I’m going to have to bite the bullet and purchase it next month.
This month’s favorite is most likely a compilation of Christmas presents. I received the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette and I can’t put it down. I know, I’ve been living under a rock and am probably the last person to get this palette. But it’s so good! The rose tones are great with the upcoming Valentine’s Day season, even though my plans will be cuddling up with my fourteen year old cockapoo and eating bowls of ice cream.
I defiantly recommend if you’re in the market for a new perfume, to purchase the Sephora sampler kit. Its $65 dollars and it allows you try out fifteen samples then turn in the voucher for a perfume of your choosing. I just traded my voucher in for the Prada Candy Kiss perfume and omg it’s amazing. Sephora’s website describes it as feminine and seductive with notes of musks, white cotton, orange blossom, suave vanilla. Yum right?
Shoes have always been an obsession of mine. (My first job was actually at a shoe store. Hello discounts!) But all my latest pairs have come from Target. Yes, Target! Surprisingly they have come out with adorable boots and sneakers that are a good price, decent quality, and are knockoffs of designer brands. My current favorite pair are these blush colored sneakers that are identical to a pair from Steve Madden and are one third of the price. I’m always looking for the best deal, and these shoes can’t be passed up. I may have already picked up a new pair of sandals that are similar to another Steve Madden pair. I know its January, but come on how can you resist?
A drugstore lipstick I have been obsessed with over the past couple months is the NYX Liquid Suede in the color “Soft Spoken.” The warm brown nude shade is perfect for all skin tones and is my everyday essential. I keep one in my purse, and one in my lipstick drawer. It’s a drugstore dupe for the bestseller Kat Von D’s “Lolita” and lets you save $13. (That’s three trips to Starbucks!)
I hope you all had a great start to the New Year and are still going strong with your resolutions. I’ll be spending the month of February kicking my butt into shape because swim suit season will be here before you know it!
