The Best Drugstore Makeup Products

When it comes to makeup, it’s assumed that the better products are the most expensive. False. As a frugal spender, I have found some of my favorite products at the drugstore for under $10. I’ve searched, researched and tested products that are just as good and even dupe high end products. Check them out below.

My Top Drugstore Favorites

Foundation: Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous $7.99

2275572

The foundation I’ve been using for six months now is the Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous in the shade 105 Classic Ivory (aka pale white girl). It’s long lasting, and has demi matte finish that won’t leave your skin looking flat.

Concealer: Maybelline Fit Me $6.99

I swear by this product. I’ve used it for the past two years and it’s great at covering acne, dark spots and redness. For natural days, I’ll just apply this and some powder and it gives the perfect amount of coverage.

You can play around with your look by getting a shade lighter than your skin tone to brighten the under eyes and use a shade darker to contour your cheek bones.

Powder: Maybelline Fit Me $7.99

2225305

I can’t bring myself to spend a lot of money on face powder. This one by Maybelline is from the same line as the concealer and has different versions for both oily and dry skin.

It’s one of the few powders out there that has a formula just for dry skin, where powder typically emphasize dry patches.

Blush: NYX Cosmetics Ombre Blush $9.99

2296911

Ombre was all the rage a couple years ago. Ombre clothes, hair and now it’s in your makeup. The NYX Ombre blushes are both pretty to look at, but have great pigmentation and have a variety of colors to suit every skin tone.

Bronzer: NYX Matte Bronzer $8.99

2242415

Contouring has been trendy for a while now. It requires a matte bronzer that isn’t too orange. This one by NYX is perfect for contouring but can also be used to warm up the face.

Highlight: Makeup Revolution Triple Baked Highlight $7.00

Highlight can be hard to come by in the drugstore. However, every highlight by Makeup Revolution is amazing quality, and competes with my $40 highlights.

Makeup Revolution is only sold at Ulta and is known for duping many luxury brands like Kat Von D and Becca Cosmetics. This product looks awfully similar to this Too Faced highlight. Hmmm..

Eyeshadow Primer: NYX Proofit $6.99

If I want my eyeshadow to last loner than an hour, I have to use a primer. (Yes, oily eyelids are a thing). The NYX Proofit is a transparent base that is like rubbing a glue stick on your eye. Your shadow will not fade or crease.

Eyeshadow: Covergirl Trunaked $10.99

With eye shadow, it’s usually you get what you pay for. Drugstore options are usually hit or miss, with most being sheer and chalky. But some of my favorite palettes are from the Covergirl TruNked line.

Covergirl has obviously copied the Urban Decay Naked Palettes with their color choices and name. These shadows are soft and very pigmented, just like the $54 Urban Decay palette.

Eyeliner: Rimmel London Scandal Eyes $5.99

2269390

I’ve never owned a high-end eyeliner. (I’m just cheap). The one I use from Rimmel has a dark black felt tip that lasts all day. Trust me, I tested it on my hand and even after I showered it was still there. The fine tip is perfect for a super fine application or even creating a wing.

Mascara: Covergirl Super Sizer $6.99

In my opinion, spending money on high end mascaras is such a waste. I’ve tried both high end and low end mascaras, and I can’t tell a difference. A staple in my collection is the Super Sizer by Covergirl.

Lipstick: NYX Liquid Suede Cream $6.99

be1e66d365e09de5fe877ba04e3e92a7

Not one lipstick fits all. There’s the traditional lipstick bullet, matte finishes, glossy, crème, liquid lipstick, lip balm, etc. Not to mention millions of color choices.

I prefer more of a liquid lipstick. This one by NYX is a liquid crème lipstick that is liquid but doesn’t dry completely matte. Meaning it doesn’t suck all the life out of your lips. Perfect for those with super dry lips.

Eyebrows: NYX Brow Pencil $9.99 and Essence Make Me Brow $2.99

Every Instagram famous model has beautiful thick dark eyebrows achieved only with the Anastasia Brow pencil. Now I think the thick brow trend looks like two plump caterpillars on a forehead, but the NYX Brow Pencil is an exact dupe for the Anastasia and is half the price! I also love the Essence brow gel which gives both a natural color and a slight hold.

Total for Everything: $99.88!

See, you can get high quality makeup products without having to compromise on price. These products can be found anywhere from Target, Walgreens, to Ulta. And remember to use coupons for an even better deal.

Xo,

Sarah

  1. Okay can I try all of these like now?? I have a few but I’m always looking for great drugstore products! I love the covergirl nude palette & the nyx liquids but I definitely want to try that concealer, blush, and bronzer!
