Life Update – Where Have I Been?

OMG I’m back! I know, I failed on blogging the past couple weeks. May is always a stressful month, and this past one was no exception. But I’m back now! And let me update y’all on what I’ve been up to.

Where Have I Been?

My Brother Graduated High School

My little brother graduated high school! Of course, I wore a Lilly Pulitzer dress. I bought it in the After Party Sale three years ago, but you can still get something similar here! And my wedges are actually from the Target kids section! I wear a size 8.5 and I can fit into a kids 6. Definitely a cheaper alternative and let’s be real, the kids shoes are always cuter.

I Moved!

Straight after the graduation, (three days to be exact) my family moved 5 hours away from our home in St. Louis to Chicago. And man, was it a stressful experience. But I couldn’t be happier in my new home, and having my family twenty minutes away is a huge plus. My room is coming slowly together and you can actually see the floor! (Which is a huge accomplishment for me) My walls however need a little help. So, I’ll be pinning ideas on Pinterest all summer.

I Went Blonder

You might have seen in some of my latest Instagram posts that I got blonde highlights. My hairstylist called them a “sun kissed” look, so they appear very natural. To me I look super blonde, but to the rest of the world I’m still a brunette with a few blonde streaks. I don’t think I’d ever go completely blonde, so don’t worry, I won’t be changing the name of my blog.

On the Job Hunt

After moving to my new town, the hunt for a part-time job started immediately. But who would have thought it would be so hard to find a summer job? I’ve applied to 20+ places, had a couple of interviews, but couldn’t seem to find anything. I just want to work!! Sorry I don’t have two years of experience in every field, I’m only 19, but I’m a quick leaner. Not to bash these managers, but they won’t hire you unless you have two years experience, a completely open schedule, ace their online personality test that have no actual correct answers, and promise to never ever leave. I swear it was easier getting into college than to get a job at Target. But after three weeks, I’ve finally landed a job at a local grocery store. It wasn’t my first choice, but the pay is good and I’ll get enough hours.

So that’s where I’ve been! Follow me on Instagram to keep up with me daily (or almost daily, I’m trying)

  1. Girl, I feel you with the job search! It took me forever to get my job! Even then the hours are super scarce at times! You look so cute in your shift dress!
